Rebirth of the 73 Challenger

After a long break from selling my 69 1/2 Six Pack Super Bee back in 1998 or 1999.

Another Mopar is back in the garage. This time a 1973 Challenger started life as a Gold 318-904-8 3/4. No fender tag or broadcast sheet.

No sure where I am going with it but the 318-904 will have to go for sure.

However for now wanting to get it running, driving and stopping.

So let get it off the ground and the wheels off and see what we have.

Looks like the front end has been rebuilt along with the front / rear brakes.

However doesn’t look like we got all the plumbing hooked up

Well what do we have here? A 489 case, unknown gears and no sure grip.

4104230 decode as race engine??

That casting number was mis-labeled in the website - it is pretty much a 80-83 318 engine.

Well wasn’t looking for it as my plan was to do a stroked 360.

But I have some options now. Too good of a deal to pass up.

So got a 1969 383 short block and a 1973 J440HP block. So may end up building one or may just sell to help fund my stroker 360

Haven’t done a lot of work unless you count the damage I’ve done on my checking account.

Well another decision made, it will be a 4 speed car
