Just signed up, looks like an interesting place 4 sure.

I own a 1972 original 318 Vin with a 30 over 340 motor under the hood. It was punched in the nose back in 2002
and I took it off the road and its been in storage pretty much ever since.

I had plans to one day finish it up and get back to driving it, but its no longer realistic due to the current situation.

I posted it to this website - 1972 Dodge Challenger $30,995 - Classic Car Deals

So far no bites. I suppose someone could sink 10K into it and have nearly a 100K valued car.

Is it worth more with the original 318?

Putting $10,000 into it is not going to make it a $100,000 car. JMHO.

Reason being: 3 pictures and a very brief description not to bad. But no documentation on engine build, build sheet, fender tag, pictures of rusted and good areas or assessment of damage. To bad you can't put 10k in it and bring the condition and value up to what you are asking or a little more. Condition is everything!

BUT any how Welcome to FEBO

Welcome aboard man. Sounds like a solid car with good bones. These days, most buyers lean toward performance over numbers-matching on a ‘72, so the 340 might actually help it move. If it were a '70 or a high-trim car, the original 318 might matter more. Hang in there; the right buyer will come along.

Welcome to the site from Michigan!
Good luck with the sale, but I think it's overpriced for the condition.

Thanks for the encouragement. What do you think is more realistic for a price?
Despite being in storage for about 15 yrs, and not being started, the dipstick oil is clean as can be,
it has the rally dash, and the flip top gas cap. The dash developed the usual cracks near the blower opening while it sat unfortunately.

Here again pictures and documents tell the story for the most part.

Welcome to FEBO from the desert. Definitely need more information to determine value. But at the end of the day, anything is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it.

Welcome to the site!
For what its worth, I would look at the car as needing almost all new sheet metal, a fender (at least one), hood, one quarter (possibly both - can't tell from the pics), a deck lid. I would expect the trunk and floors to need a lot of work based on what I see, but I could wrong - more and better pictures would confirm or eliminate what I see, but the price does seem excessive to me, based on what I see.
