Neither the factory SS trim bezels or the repop ones that came with the new plastic grille will stay on. I noticed the plastic studs/protrusions on the factory grille that the bezels mount to have tiny slits on one side near the base just wide enough for the bezel to hang onto. The studs/protrusions on the new grille are smooth on both sides leaving nothing fo the bezel to hold onto.

Anyone found a workaround for this problem?

Thanks in advance.

Here's a close up of 2 that broke off and the new grille without the slits. The slits are only on one side all facing in to the center of the grille.

Somebody told a friend he cut the slits in the new grille himself and solved the problem of the trim popping off. There's 32 studs to cut.

Those slots don't do anything to hold the trim. The trim basically just pushes onto the tabs and grips the flats on the tabs. If your trim isn't gripping the tabs then it probably needs to be squeezed together more so it will grip.

I strongly disagree.
