Trying to find out if anyone produces the black wheel paint used on the road wheels for my 70 Chally. My wheels are like the Magnum 500 but with the trim rings. The black paint is faded and aged and I want to duplicate it as much as I can.

Was the original sheen more of a flat or satin or semi? Hard to tell from pics. I can find the correct silver/argent for the styled wheels but so far have not been able to locate any black paint?

I have used the Krylon semi in the past with good results. Take your time with the masking as there is a lot of it.

I forgot about that vaseline trick....heard that somewhere. Once used it on some chrome rims back in the 80's one winter to protect them through the road salt. Pain to clean but did the trick.

I have some real good automotive masking tape the molds around corners wonderfully.

So is the correct finish of the black a semi gloss color then?

I'm 85% done with this car after almost 2 years!
