Did a 70 Barracuda have seat belt retractors? I had a 70 Barracuda and I don't remember it having retractors. The photo is the passenger side. The seat doesn't slide back and forth properly because of the retractors. The side cover for the seat does not fit properly because it hits the retractor. Are the retractors flipped? Passenger side on the drivers side and vise versa? Can I just remove them? Thanks

The OEM belts on the 1970 Barracuda has a retractable front lap belt. it is hidden below a mound under the carpet. When replacing them with aftermarket, they nearly all have a retractor of some type, but few are the hidden-type below the mound in the carpet.

I'm going to replace the carpet so I can relocate the retractor. The main problem, I can't move the seat back and forth. Thanks

Those belts do not look correct. They should be under the carpet with a white plastic cover that the carpet goes over. Just the metal retractor housing and the plastic "slit" piece is all there is. I think that black housing is the problem.

I don't recall ever seeing the type of retractor you have in an E-body. I agree it should in a a plastic housing under the carpet.

I was thinking these retractors are from a different car. The ones in the photo, look like the belts I had in my other Barracuda. Thanks
