Shaker base hits distributor

I installed a 426 Hemi in my 1971 Cuda. The shaker base hits the top od the distributor. Anybody else had this problem?

Yup: I butchered out the bottom of the adapter ring to clear the wires when using an MSD distributor. Glad it was a repro part. It's tight with a Chrysler distributor but still works obviously.

Heres my green car with Chrysler distributor. I don't have a good shot of the one with an MSD but it is probably 1/2" or 1" taller.
