Good Morning,

My 73 cuda automatic can shift to any gear without the key in the ignition. Sometimes, the simplest answer is the right answer, so I ask: What might be they most obvious couple of items to check first?

Thanks,
Jerry

My 73 automatic floor shift Barracuda can shift out of park and into any gear without the key in the ignition also. There is no and was no interlock (linkage) on my car. Maybe if it was a column shift there may have been an interlock when the key was not in the ignition.

Interesting....I just assumed there would be an interlock requirement by 1973.

Thanks,

Jerry

Well, they say you should read your owners manual. Right there on page 2. Normal operations
