Does anyone have a pic of the full automatic shifter assembly? I have the mopar book and it's not very clear on how it all goes together. I was hoping for an actual picture of someone's set that is in working order.
TIA

which parts? the under-car side with the rod and linkage to the tranny, or the hump parts with the knob and lighting? And which "mopar book" are you referring to?

FWIW, Challenger RTA's second picture is not E-body.
A "right-side-up" picture from the Service Manual (is that the "Mopar book" you're referring to)?

Maybe these photos will help. Especially if you want to know where the spring goes. Please excuse all of the "stuff" in the floorboards and the dust and cat hair.

I modified the service manual drawings to reflect a 1970 shifter knob and also the 1971-1974 T-handle shifter. The last picture shows the 1970 E-body linkage with spring.

On the one end, the end of the spring just slides into the slot. You'd think it would fall out, but there's enough tension and friction to keep it in there. I'll take some more photos if you'd like.

Here are some pictures of the gear shift lever in low (the other extreme from the earlier park). It's hard to get much better pictures as the car is up on tall jack stands in preparation for welding in torque boxes and sub-frame connectors.

Yes, it looks like it will fall out but it works just fine. Some more views of the spring from my stash of photos.

I'm lucky in that I have a running, driving 70 Challenger that will stay that way until my 71 Barracuda is running and driving. Even though there are slight changes between 70 and 71 ebodies, it's great having an original car to compare the 71 to! Pictures and manuals are great, but a full scale 3D model in front of you is even better!
