Hi Guys
Speedometer is not working on my 73 Cuda after having installed a new 62" cable. Wondering if there is any way to determine if it is the actual speedometer or something else. Appreciate any info . Thanks

Note which way it turns.
Next step will be attaching a drill to other end and seeing if the speedo is the problem.
I believe its CCW, but check that.

My speedometer works intermittently. It randomly jumps up and down and on occasion works for a short time. Not sure if it's the gauge, cable or gear in the transmission.

My guess is that your speedo is on its last legs, but you can remove the cable at trans, chuck it into a drill motor, and test as suggested above by @Katfish to eliminate the gear in transmission variable. Removing, cleaning, and re-lubing cable can also be done. If those two things don't work I'd recommend sending it out to someone like Redline for a service/rebuild.
