great. so, if the mini tank doesn't pull fuel, it's the pump? is the pump on the side of the bock? near where i put the new flex line? if i go pre bent fuel lines would that work too? I filled the tank with about 2.5 gal of gas, should i pump that back out? thanks again for your help.

Yes fuel pump is on the pass side of the block just behind and a little below the alternator. I would put your test line right on the intake side of the pump. Yes you can also buy pre bent lines.
