looking for a front swaybar for a 71 Challenger

IMG_0016.JPG

the front sway bar is often located right in front of the K-frame cross member that fits below the engine. If your car was issued without a sway bar, it may also be missing the mount points for the end-link on the lower control arms, and/or the pivot points on the K-frame.

sorry for posting it wrong so i'll tell u what happened; I was never a person to work on a car except brakes and small stuff.I bought this car at 23 yrs old (1974)and tried to redo it myself 30 yrs later when i messed it up i parked it up until 8 yrs ago and could afford a frame up restoration. I have been driving it for 4 summers( Put 17000 miles)and enjoyed it immensely (i'm 71) well i always felt something wrong in the handling compared to when i first got it and had it looked at by 3 front end guys and they found nothing. Last week i heard a clump and jacked it up to find the bracket on the lower control arm that holds the sway bar broken I took it apart and got it welded.2 days ago when i reassembled it i found that the bar was installed in a 45 degree angle and was not fitting right. After checking on a 72 i figured that when they re assembled the car they put the wrong bar in and now am looking at an aftermarket part unless i get lucky and get an original. The body shop claims that they put in the same part but at 23 years old i was driving the*&^%% out of the car and never had a problem From 35000miles when i bought it to 83000 miles when i parked it in 1976. I now have 99740 miles and a wrong swaybay. So that's why i am where i am.Sorry for posting it wrong,i thought it was in wanted to buy i'lltry reposting later thanks for the info

If I made you feel as if you did something wrong, I'm sorry. There is a WTB (Wanted To Buy) section, but you may still be in the investigative phase, so posting here is fine with me.

Note on this clip from the 1970-71 Dealer Parts Book it pretty much lists ONE sway bar for most applications on the E-body, and this same sway bar came on B-bodies.

And in the 1972 part book:

Notice it's the same part number (also for B-bodies, referred to as R, W)

If you really need another sway bar, it should not be too hard to find, and it looks like a common part.
