T handle shifter swap on a 70 Cuda?

I wonder if the T handle directly interchanges with the round woodgrain shift knob?

Has anyone changed their round knob for the T shifter handle?

you need the whole shifter as the shaft is oval instead of round but the whole shifter will bolt right in , but the T handles are fragile , I like the pistol grip conversion better from Autogrip
