I started up my cuda last weekend and got it running but the carburetor I had rebuilt from a guy in Oklahoma has got problems and I was wondering what everyone else was running in their cars. The carburetor has a small vacuum leak at the base gasket even with that being changed twice. Also the throttle shaft was not bushed properly and there's a vacuum leak there. I have a Edelbrock on my 73 cuda which seems to work okay but I would like to be able to hook up all the appropriate lines on my 72 including the fuel bowl vent line. Thanks in advance

Find any 72 to 75 (and non-California 76) Thermoquad. They're pretty easy to rebuild. Check for worn throttle shafts before buying. If buying sight unseen, it makes it harder. I would think in Ohio, there's a lot of Thermoquads relatively nearby.

My car is an automatic. I went ahead and started a post on the fuel section since initially I didn't get much response on this one. I found a vacuum leak which appears to be in the base on the right rear mounting point. I make sure the intake was straight and I went up to summit and got some gasket material and made two gaskets from the fuel resistant material. That was a good way to kill a couple of hours. With the software material on top of the hard base gasket I'm hoping it compresses enough to seal it.
