I have a 70 RT Challenger, not an SE. It had a black vinyl roof, long gone. I have a question. What is the best order to install it.
1. There is no glass in the car.
2. There is no dash in the car
3. Car is in epoxy but not finish painted FC-7 color.

I did strip the roof, just surface rust. I treated the roof with POR15, then coated with urethane primer, and blocked it down nice and smooth. I am working on the dash/steering column now and want to put that in first but can the vinyl roof be applied after the windows are installed?

I just finished painting the engine compartment and clearing it so engine and transmission will be next.

I put the vinyl top on my 68 Dart GTS that I restored a few years ago. Windows out, so you can get the top glued tight in the front and rear window channels. The A body has two seams on top. I'm thinking the E body is the same. Take plenty of measurements, so you get it centered, and start in the center of the roof. You should be able to leave the edge trim off and tape up, when you paint the body....
