There were 4 built , possibly 71's with 72 grille, etc. This particular model was sold in 79. They were titled 72's.

I have heard of what you are saying. No one has even been able to prove it. It is like the 71 T/A Challengers. Some say they were built, but can never prove it. I'm sure the car you are looking for is a 71.
