What is everyone running for tires?

I like the look of the BFG Radial TA but I heard they don't hook very good.
I plan on my Big Block making over 500hp/600ft lbs so I'm considering ET streets in the back. That leaves me what for the fronts?

Now my Camaro drag setup is all bias ply slicks in rear and skinnies up front so the tire choice was easy.
 
I have no love for BFGarbage , the are the bottom quality wise , out round brnd new , belt separtion , poor traction / worse in wet .
Anything is better , Cooper Cobra for the front & Nitto Drag radials for the rear the Nitto are available from Discount Tire Direct with free shipping
 
Well how good are nittos compared to ET streets?

Looks like nittos are recommended if it's mostly street.

Longer tread life , better wet read design & very good bite , come in a variety of sizes for muscle cars , I used the 275 / 50 on my Challenger & a few customer E bodies , the early Bs fit the 295 / 50
 
I think im going to get them in 275/60/15 and the coopers in 255/60/15 for the front.

Just makes me sad about no raised white letters =(

So I'm reading 255 won't fit up front without fender work.
245 fits with no work though?

It's only .4in wider.

Yeah I just read that. I always thought the aspect ratio was always mm so 60 is 60mm no matter what. But it makes sense that it is 60% which is the ratio part haha.

So 245/60/15s for up front on a 4 1/2" backspace and 275/60/15 on 4 1/2" backspace for the rear fit?
 
I have had 295 50 15 on an * " rim on the rear , it does rub but it is too close for comfort which is why I went to the 275 50
 
One of the guys on another forum says he's running 245/60/15 front and 275/60/15 rear all 4.5" backspace. Says no rubbing no relocation kits no spacers.)
 
Personally I am not a fan of the 275 60 in the rear , to me it just looks too tall which is why I chose the same 275 width but with the shorter 50 series profile , nicer look IMO
 
I agree with Chryco on BF Garbage I'm running 245/60/15 on the front & 275/60/15 on rear,stock suspension,the rear is a tight fit but I've had no issues.

I will also be turning 500+hp but mines a sb 340 stroked to 418 currently have BFG's but going with the Coopers & Nittos
 
Well a 245/60/15 is only .5in taller than a 235/60/15 which is currently on the car.

275/50/15 is .3in shorter than what's currently on the car. The 275/60/15 makes it a 28in tire. Or 1.9in taller than is on there now.

Running a 4.10 with a 28in tire puts it at 3693rpm at 70. 26in tire puts it at 3919rpm.

Just over a 200rpm difference.

Im thinking I'm going to run the 60s front and back.

So, it doesn't sound like putting 15x10 Rallyes w/5" BS on rear of '70 Challenger R/T will fit? But, 15x8s w/4.5" BS will?
 
The wheels that I have on my '70 Challenger are the same ones that were installed on the assy. line. They are the 14" Rallye wheels, and are still on it. Now for the tires on the front Kelly Chargers RWL in P225x60x14 and in the back P245x60x14 Kelly Chargers also, the wheels are the 14x5.5", I did have the 14" trim rings polished out, like the 15" trim rings are.
