Hello folks, for those that followed my slant 6 to 440 thread, I appreciate all the input along the long road to my restoration. Now that I am finished with it, I need to insure it properly and would like opinions on what you think it is worth. Remember it is now R/T clone as close -440 4BL 4 speed as I could get to it from a plain /6 3 speed. Thanks in advance and here are a few pics of it finished. 99% of it is new or refurbished nut and bolt.

First off, beautiful build!!! Now, as for insurance value, different companies have their own requirements for what they cover. I use Hagarty and they let you set your own value to a point. Since mine is in project state, they just took my word for it because the value I gave them was reasonable. They can require pictures and possibly an appraisal when it is finished like yours. Also, make sure your company allows you to drive it the way you want to. Many companies that insure classics have stipulations that they are only to be driven to special events and so forth. Anyway, enjoy your nice ride!!!

I have Hagerty and they let you insure to your stated amount. You know what it cost to build and I would insure it at that amount.
If I was to guess it's worth I'd say approx 50k.

On another note, if you really want it as close to an RT, change the dash to a rallye one. All RT's has the rallye dash.
With that said, it's an awesome looking challenger

Thanks guys, I actually like the standard gauge set up, that's why I put in a tach where the clock normally would be.

I know how expensive Mopars are to restore. If you farmed out much (paint and metal) I’m sure your pushing close 100k. I have well over that in mine. I know I couldn’t sell it for that but will never be for sale in my lifetime. (Hopefully not in my son or grandsons too LOL) insured mine for 75 no questions asked, StateFarm

I have Hagerty and a 74 Duster and I said $5000 value and she said $7500 is the value. So they had a better idea of the value than me.

Very nice job! I know you’re proud and should be. Like the others have said. Make sure you can put as many miles as you think per year. My personal company only wanted photos and to see it. My insurance is for 75k and it’s cheap. That’s comp, collision, uninsured, full loss etc.
Again, beautiful car. Get er covered.

For the record...there's insurance replacement value (go as high as you can) and retail value if you're gonna sell it. I think you're just looking for coverage... I have Hagerty...I put 70k and they didn't bat an eye...I've also had them for over 10yrs and through 6 different cars...
They didn't even ask me for pictures.

I would have to agree with other posters here; replacement value of the car within reason for insurance.
Clones that are restored to a high level are selling at good prices; there is apparently a market for clone cars that does not necessarily deter a possible purchase.
The $70 k mark does not seem that far out of reach; I am sure your cost of the build has exceeded that number!

Thanks everyone. 70K may be a good target but I am scared to add up all the receipts in fear I may have wayyyyyyy toooooo much invested. Since I got the car at a fair value, I will accept the fact that unless hard times hit, I really won't want to sell her either.

When I added mine to my policies at State Farm I told the agent to insure it for $55k. Then a few months later I received a letter saying it exceeded max book value of $50k and dropped the coverage to that. Now it's up to $54k, guess I shud let them know...but $75k...?
