Hey All:

Maybe looking to run a 74 in Stock. NOT trying to fool someone into thinking its an original 340 car. Would rather run with the engine combo for '73 or '72 (340 vs. 360), or maybe big block.

What are the differences body wise? Are the '73/'74 bumpers the same?

Currently my car is a '74 with a rally hood.

Thanks for any help!

74 rear bumpers are different than 73's due to different mounting brackets. The 74 bumpers have one of the holes in a different spot but I doubt anyone will notice. The main difference in the 74's is that they used a larger bumper guard than 73.

72's didn't use any bumper guards but had smaller bumperettes on the rear to cover the slot in the rear valence. You can convert your 74 to look like a 73 by just putting the smaller 73 bumper guards on. If you want it to look like a 72, you'll have to remove the guards and push the bumpers in closer to the body.

The 74 front bumper brackets can be redrilled and moved in to the 72 location. You need to buy 72 rear brackets or cut and reweld the 74's in the new location.
