Whats the stock oil capacity for a 1970 440 6pack

Hey Fellas,
I am new to Ma Mopar and loving it. My first car is a turn key , real V code 70 RT challenger 440 6 pack 4-spd.. When changing the oil the other day, ( 10w-40 ) it took 6 quarts and it still reads almost 1 quart low. Can anyone please let me know how many quarts this motor should have. I have been reading anywhere for 5-7 ???

I believe the six pack engines were six in the pan, one in the filter, totaling seven. It's been a while since I've looked in the manuals for it, but I believe that's the oil capacity.

According to my ancient scripts of Chilton, a factory production - meaning factory oil pan - '74 360 requires 4 qts + 1 for the new oil filter (5 qts total).
