70 Barracuda Fuel filler tube install help

I am trying to put in my fuel filler tube into a Tanks inc tank and for the life of me cant get it into the tank grommet. I tried lube, spray and boiling the grommet with no success. Is there a easy way I am overlooking? can anyone share their advice?

I have always been able to do it with some grease or vaseline & twisting it , possibly it is a repro grommet & thicker than the Mopar seal

I used a healthy amount of WD40 and a lot of twisting and pushing. Ya gotta gorilla it through.
