I am restoring a 73 Challenger that has had the trunk replaced. The one thing that the new trunk does not have is the cut-out for the gas filler tube through the trunk floor. I will need to cut a hole for this, but does anyone have the measurements for placement/size,etc for cutting this? I would like to cut it before I install the new gas tank.

Thanks for any info or advise...

Larry

I have an old piece off my barracuda with the original hole
2 inches wide by 4 inch oval

Challenger and barracuda are different. The picture from cuda john looks like the vent stand pipe opening.
Someone needs give you the challenger filler tube dimensions, and i cannot. I'm mr cuda, not mr challenger.

This is what you want? Correct. do you have the trunk mat? Get the idea.

Flip gasket over make a templet to use for cut out. Use the mat to locate filler tube gasket mark the hole through the gasket.

Tapes read 1 1/8"x5 1/2" when held in place.

I hadn't thought of using the mat to make a template. Sometimes the simplest solutions are the ones overlooked. The pictures and measurements help too.

Thanks, Guys...
