Hi,I need a photo of a Cuda 70-74.... 3 or 4 speed clutch,rod spring setup. E-body. Any photos would help my restoration thank you

When i give it more clutch on the rod,do i turn the screw right or left ? Its been a long time since iv adjusted the rod.

71. bring the nut forward,then just take up the slack by running the nut to the rear. check pedal play run nut to back to desired pedal feel. When done clutch pedal might be a little higher then brake.

I'm just reinstalling my 4 speed trans after having it rebuilt. When removing it, I noticed that the clutch adjusting rod looked jacked up. I bought a new rod online, it shows a straight one for big block (I have the 383), and one with a 15 degree bend for small blocks. I got the straight one. The one in the car has an obvious bend, more than 15 deg. The rod does not go straight back into the throw-out brg arm. Other than replacing the rod with the new straight one, does anyone see anything else awry? Oh yeah, I am also missing the return spring, which I purchased and will install.

That does not look right. The insulator bush is all wonky and there is no bush and washer on the "rear" side.

Yeah, I'm not sure what goes on which side. The adjusting rod service kit from Classic Industries includes the following parts:
Rod, locknut, return spring, nylon washer, return spring retainer (??), conical washer, clutch fork insulator.
I don't know why it doesn't have 2 nuts, and more washers etc. I don't know which parts should go where.
I did not buy this kit, probably should have. I bought the rod and spring separately, figuring I had the other items.
The return spring retainer must be the clip that holds the loop end of the rod to the Z-bar stud.

This shows no washers or nuts on the back side of the rod. Does this seem correct? Maybe they are not required since it is all under spring tension and it cannot pop out?

That is correct.

You can go to MyMopar and download the 1970 Challenger manual for free.

The MyMopar.com Service Manual Library does not have the 73 Plymouth Service Manual for your Cuda but they do have the 70 and some 71 Plymouth manuals that will cover the majority of the 73 body and mechanicals.
