Good afternoon,
I have a stock 68 340, what type brand oil filter is good and reliable. Engine break in on Wednesday, builder said pick up oil and filter.
Thanks in advance.

Fram PH43 (Short) or PH8A (Long) or their equivalents based on clearance to manifolds or to headers.
A 90° adapter can rotate the filter's orientation to allow for the Long filter to fit.

Consider a WIX filter 51515. Several other quality filters exist as well.

I have always used the Fram PH8A , Unless you don’t have the adapter than you have to go with the shorter one, of course don’t know what that part number is cause I’ve never had to deal with that

I will always try to use a WIX filter. Also, the Carquest premium oil filters are made by WIX as well. I was in the Auto Parts business for almost 30 years as a store owner. Fram used to be a good product years ago, but now it's pretty much crap. Along with a lot of other name brands that are crap..
