My '73 cuda needs a new window roller bushing on the driver's side. I have ordered this kit with the intention of just changing the bad roller bushing now and taking the door apart over the winter.

As you can see the the kit includes screw-in type roller bushings, However, my current bushings aren't screw in, but more like pressed in. My car has a non-original driver's door, as indicated by the blue overspray under the door panel. When i looked at the passenger side, it had the same type bushing but still had original GK6 paint overspray under the door panel.

Question: Has anyone one used the Classic Industries kit and how did you replace the roller bushings?

Side note: The driver's side outer window trim felt has been pop-riveted in, so I would have to drill them out to remove the window/register assembly. Didn't want to get that deep into it until the winter.

Thanks for any insight.

I am attempting to add to this thread, and am unsure if I should do so or start a new one. This is all new to me.

I need to install the passenger door window in my 1973 Barracuda. It has sat in my car for 4 years with a board supporting the front of the glass due to the track components failing. I bought a kit for E bodies from a big outfit and some parts aren't evident on my door and some parts seem to be missing from the kit. The image for parts for a 1972 seems to have the white wheel in my photo that I have glued back together. Is it possible that 1972 parts were used on a 73? Is it possible that parts in the kit have been reengineered and substitute for my 52 year old parts? (as an example, the orange wheels that have a threaded stud through the center, from the kit, don't seem to have a comparable in the door.)

My chassis Service Manual has narrative walking me through the process but at this stage, I am not intelligent enough to comprehend it. The diagram in my parts catalogue show 112 items for one side of the car.

Can anyone help me with an illustration that shows the parts that affix to the glass? Every spacer/wheel/washer/guide/nut/ect. Ideally something that is clear and understandable. If not, does anyone have photos that might guide me? I have spent days trying to fix my own problem on the internet and failed. "Help me Obi-Wan, you're our only hope"

If you don't have this info. You will need it latter. Someone might come along that has had your same experience. I searched the site and really didn't see the same problem.
This might help. Not sure what plate you talking about. Picture?

Parallelism and Primary Seal
(1) Raise window completely.
(2) Loosen screw at belt on upper end of front
track.
(3) Align and set front edge of glass to “A” pillar
and top edge to roof rail weatherstrip creating a
parallelism with weatherstrip locating bead.
(4) Secure upper
In-Out and Secondary Seal
port.
(5) Loosen bottom screws on front track lower sup-
(6) Loosen bottom screw on rear track support.
Push front track lower support. Outboard for inboard
contact at weatherstrip. Allow rear track to create it’s
own plane, parallel to front track.
(7) Secure previously loosened front track lower
support screws.
(8) Secure rear track lower support screws.
(9) Secure front track lower support screws.
If additional alignment to ”A” pillar or roof rail is
necessary, adjust regulator idler arm pivot
rail is
necessary, adjust regulator idler arm pivot bracket
up or down as required and secure.
(10) Secure regulator arm pivot guide to panel. ////////The long and short of this is.! Door hinges good? door gap aliened to quarter panel. and 1/4 window up and back, not to hit door glass on closing! can fine tune rear later. have track loose at all points, Not falling apart! move forward and up to seal. until satisfied. Idea is to have the 2 vertical track parallel when done and leaning in or out the same. bottom track adjustment when moved have a lager range and effect of movement top not as much. You have to study the components to know what each and ever function is.
