I am trying to get the front end back together on a 72 Challenger Rallye, I have the Dave Wise book and the exploded views of the grille pieces. There is no clear picture of the plastic valence or what it is attached with in either publication. The Wise book leads you to believe that valence plastic insert goes in with 1/4" bolts and U-nuts. There was one old broken bolt/nut still on the air shield, I believe it to be original. It is definitely smaller than 1/4" and looks more like a J nut? I bought the Grille Hardware Kit AMD and nothing in it fits for the plastic valence. Attached is the valence I am trying to attach. Any help greatly appreciated!

Hi, did you solve this? Mine has the same piece but I had to replace the front valance panel and it does not have all of the holes needed to attach this. The original panel has the holes so I cut them off and rivetted these to the new valance and used j-nuts and bolts for the 2 holes at either end, the one in the middle. The 4 holes on the leading edge align with the edge of the valance and you may need to do the same thing with the old tabs.
