Installed new 7" x 17 front and 8" x 17" rear by US Wheels with Nitto 555. This paired with a refeshed front end suspension , I am looking forward to carving curves with the Cuda. One photos shows the 6x14 Polys vs Nittos

I’ve never ran the 555’s and have only heard positive replies. I hope they work out for you.
The date code on my new but old 2008 BFG’s have to go. (Burnouts)
I really want to stay with the 15” wheels as I have a few sets. I’ll be doing something different here shortly. Will you let me know how you like those?
Much appreciated

I run the Nitto 555's on my 72 with 17x8 rear wheels. They have much better traction than the tires that were on there. I can only fit 245's on the back so am limited on width. I really could use a lot more meat on the back as traction is a real challenge in my Challenger!!!

I definitely understand the traction issue.
Already have some real sticky M/T’s but, they’re almost a cheater slick.
Looks like these could be an option. 👍🏻

Do they make the squeaking noise as you pull out of the garage?
Still freaks me out, even though I know it's going to happen.

You should be able to fit at least a 275 wide rear tire with the standard leaf spring location if the wheel offset is correct. Where is your interreference?
I've got 255/70-15 on the back of mine and that is a 29"-ish tall tire. Width fits fine with plenty of room to go wider and the tall sidewall fills the wheel well. My target is a 295/305 wide 17" or 18" tire with a 1" spring relocation and B-body housing.

I agree I *should* be able. The guy who restored the car put on new rear fenders. The inside of the fenders rubs the tires so I had to roll them a little to clear the 245's.

Are those 17" steel wheels? Holy cow those must be heavy. I have seen good press about the 555s.

That stills seems odd, but it could be highly dependent upon the backspacing of the wheels. If this isn't dialed in, then I could see it limiting how much tire you can fit. Improve position of the wheel to the well and you should be able to improve the width of the tire you can fit. FWIW, I had 295/50s on 8" wide wheels on my stock set up. After moving in the springs 1", I've got 305s. I am planning on moving to 315s when I step up wheel diameter in the future. The Hotchkis guys were able to fit 335s into the stock wheels of their Challenger.

Rear tires have 1" between fender lip and widest part of the tire. So good clearance for bumps. The fronts...well good clearance except at full lock...very close.

First drive thoughts...
No rubbing, not even over larger rolling bumps.
Tires hook well in straight line
Hard cornering they do not roll over or push like the Poly's did
No real change in ride harshness compared to Poly's
Higher speeds car is much more stable, assuming due to steel belts and increased size of rim, lowering the sidewalls.
Yes it is a little harder to turn with manual steering while parking, but not terrible.

...these tires coupled with my recent QA1 front end upgrade makes me drive faster and more aggressive :)

downside....now I need Bilstein Shocks on rear, because the front is so stable I now notice the back end wallows around with the Monroe shocks

No I have not had an interference. I did mock up cardboard templates to simulate the tires and rims on the car, before purchasing. Im glad I did, everything fits and is maxed out fit for my car.
