Installed new 7" x 17 front and 8" x 17" rear by US Wheels with Nitto 555. This paired with a refeshed front end suspension , I am looking forward to carving curves with the Cuda. One photos shows the 6x14 Polys vs Nittos
I run the Nitto 555's on my 72 with 17x8 rear wheels. They have much better traction than the tires that were on there. I can only fit 245's on the back so am limited on width. I really could use a lot more meat on the back as traction is a real challenge in my Challenger!!!I’ve never ran the 555’s and have only heard positive replies. I hope they work out for you.
The date code on my new but old 2008 BFG’s have to go. (Burnouts)
I really want to stay with the 15” wheels as I have a few sets. I’ll be doing something different here shortly. Will you let me know how you like those?
Much appreciated
I definitely understand the traction issue.I run the Nitto 555's on my 72 with 17x8 rear wheels. They have much better traction than the tires that were on there. You should be able to fit at least a 275 wide rear tire with the standard leaf spring location if the wheel offset is correct. Where is your interreference?I run the Nitto 555's on my 72 with 17x8 rear wheels. They have much better traction than the tires that were on there. I agree I *should* be able. The guy who restored the car put on new rear fenders. The inside of the fenders rubs the tires so I had to roll them a little to clear the 245's.You should be able to fit at least a 275 wide rear tire with the standard leaf spring location if the wheel offset is correct. I've got 255/70-15 on the back of mine and that is a 29"-ish tall tire. Width fits fine with plenty of room to go wider and the tall sidewall fills the wheel well. My target is a 295/305 wide 17" or 18" tire with a 1" spring relocation and B-body housing.
