OK, this might have been covered before......I see a lot of threads about "What is the biggest tire I can fit on the back of my Cuda/Challenger/ etc....BUT, as much as I love the look of the (and my) Cuda I don't really like the smaller FRONT tires. Currently I am running on 15x8 in a 255 in the back and a 15x7 with a 235 in front. I think the fronts are too small, so my question what is the largest tire you can run on the front AND back (same size) on your e-body, Cuda specifically if that matters? Pics are appreciated.

Edit to say: Open to staggered tires/wheels suggestions/pics as well....

Thanks,

Kansan

Hey Kansas, I’m with you on the same size widest tire (all four) we can use. I will be following your thread because I want to know as well🌴

Looks good from here.

I have 255/60-15 on the old 15x7 cop wheels on all four corners of my 70 Challenger with no issues. Been on there for about twelve years (had 235/50-15 before that).

I have 255/60R15 in the rear and 245/60R15 in the front both on 15x7's. I tried the 255's on the front but the clearance to the fenders was to close for my liking.
I believe 6PKRTSE has larger tires on his cars without any problems. I'm sure he'll chime in with his sizes. He helped me when I was looking for tire sizes.

L60-15's on the rear on 8" wide if I can remember back 50 years. AI can't get the color quite right in the last photo.

I have 235 in the front and 275 in the rear. There were no issues with any of the tires except the rear passenger side. That side had to be rolled so hard that it warped the quarter panel slightly. I wanted to repaint it anyway since it was starting to have a few bubbles on the roof (previously a vinyl top car), I had an altercation with a concrete flower pot a few years ago and amazingly it was painted in 1998 and still looked good, but now it is getting a refresh. The most expensive words in remodeling and restorations: "while you're at it." But I am excited to get it redone.

Hi Kansas, I’m thinking simply go with the widest front tire that fits with no issues on a stock fish. This size tire should work on the rear as well keeping all four tires the same size in the widest configuration possible. 🌴

Yeah, that's probably where I'll go. I think 15x8 all around. I have the broadcast sheet for my car, but not sure how to decode the wheels. There is a 2? under wheels covers on the broadcast sheet so maybe it was originally a hub cap car.....

I like the look of the 275s. I'm thinking I might go with the 275s in the back with the 255s in front...and 15x8 road wheels all around.

Edit: BTW, sharp 'Cuda @Cuda360-4

Nice!! Almost a match for @toolmanmike 's old Cuda

I have 5 different sets of wheels and tires that I swap around between different cars. On my red Challenger are all 235/60/15's in the front and 295/50/15's on the rear with 15"x8" wheels with a 4-1/2" back space with all stock suspension and wheel well openings. The other cars are B Bodies so different but same sizes.
My blue Challenger is mini-tubbed with springs moved inboard and a narrowed rear axle, so different concept altogether.

@6PKRTSE - On your red Challenger, do the 295 tires fit up inside of the wheel wells or does something in the suspension keep them from going into the wheel well so that they don't rub? I think on the driver's side of my 'Cuda I could have fit a 295, but I had to modify the passenger side to prevent the 275 rubbing on that side. I don't know if it was like that from the factory or if we messed something up when it was restored in 1998 when we replaced the lower portion of the quarter panels because of rust. I can't get over the difference in the clearance between each side. It is not obvious at all when you look at the car. Both sides look perfect. I had only test fit the driver's side before purchasing the tires and only discovered the discrepancy when we mounted the new tires.

Nothing modified or added. All stock all factory parts. Nothing rubs anywhere. It might rub with large enough bumps with 4 or 5 people in the car, which is almost never.

Sounds like you may also need to re-center your axle within the body.
