I bought a kick down assembly for a 440 engine thing it would be the same as a hemi. Can anyone tell me where I can buy this part online. If that isn't possible a picture so I can have a machinist coble something together. Thanks.

The throttle pressure linkage is a collection of like 20+ parts. And while some of those 20+ parts of the linkage may be found on other engine sizes, each engine's linkage is more or less unique to each engine size.

The Dealer Parts Book can help you work out if some of these parts are available on other engines, if you're looking to piece together what you need.

Do you think you need most/all of the parts in the setup, or are you just missing a few pieces?

I think A&A Transmissions may sell a reproduction kit.

I bought a 440 kick down linkage. I'm wondering if I buy the hemi bracket from classic auto if I could just take the 440 bracket out of the assembly if that would work. If not I can buy the complete assembly. It is expensive but doing it the right way is important to me. It is less than $500 I feel I won the lottery.

the Dealer Parts Book will answer those questions. From memory, its more than just the bracket that is different. You may be better off selling that 440 linkage to offset the cost of the 426 setup

Thanks I was going to talk to the person helping me with this project on his thoughts about these options. I was leaning towards buying the part because I commonly buy the wrong thing during my restoration thinking ebody parts were more common across years than I thought. I learn best buy doing the wrong thing first. So american...

I'm sure you've already figure this out, but there may be more things different about 426 Hemi cars that other engines. As a result, the parts are more rare and command a higher price than others.

See attached photos from the MCC Restoration and Judging Guide for E-Bodies. looks like just out to the Hemi top rod and the bracket that bolts to the Hemi intake will do the trick. After all the 440 and 426 are the same distance between the top of the block and transmission. And the vertical piece of linkage does have adjustment to make it longer and shorter (about an inch).

Thank you for the images. I went with a 850 cfm holley so I don't have the dual carb thing going on. Less work getting things to work in synch. Had a dual carb setup originally but the mechanic building the engine talked me out of it. I want a consistent running car that is very dependable but built well. I don't expect to drive it like my friends did growing up. To be honest they were better drivers and risk takers than me. Been almost 22 years since it was running and I've driven mostly put put cars since (honda, subaru, mazda).

In that case, you may be customizing your own top bar. Does the single barrel intake on your Hemi has the same holes to mount the bracket (lower right corner in the second page/photo I sent)? You may just need that Hemi bracket and the adjustment in the 440 top linkage rod might work fine.
