: Helping my uncle downsize his garage—any idea what these car parts are for? 340 six pack

Hi everyone,
I am currently helping my uncle downsize his garage, I pulled these old car parts out of long-term storage where they have been sitting.

The orange lid says "340 SIX PACK" on it, and there is a matching black tray, a rusty metal intake manifold, and three old carburetors sitting on the workbench next to it.

I’m not a big car expert ( I did a quick search but I want people who really know about this help me out), so I wanted to get the community's thoughts to see if anyone can tell me more about what we actually have here:

1. Can anyone help me figure out what these are for?
2. Is that black fiberglass piece part of the original assembly, or is it an aftermarket add-on?
3. What exact type of car, month, and year did a setup like this originally come on from the factory?

the sixpack carbs should each of a list number located on the choke tower. those numbers will tell us the application (which engine, year, etc) they were designed for.

gently clean the black baseplate with mild soap and water, and look for a stamp with the 7-digit part number. but if you figure out what the carbs are for, there is a good chance the bade place is for the same. the orange lid is combined with the base plate.

that said, the 6-pack intake manifold pictured looks like a small block and/or 340.

I agree , Chev intake , the carbs are missing a lot of parts , the list # are on the back behind the airhorn on the front & back carbs ., in front on the middle carb
They are vacuum operated carbs so there should be vacuum pots on the right side of the carbs , { left in your pix ] to pull the carbs open but they are gone , the linkage for the drivers side is also missing along with the fuel lines .
The Air cleaner is rare & was Only available on the less than 5000 Trans Am Cudas & Challengers built in March / April 70

I've always been told FRAM, the maker of the six pack aircleaners and air cleaner tins painted part numbers on, no stamps. If it's stamped, it's a repo.

And that intake looks nothing like a small block six pack intake. AI at best.

If it's real it's 100% a chevy. Odd how the oil fill hole looks distorted.

When you come up with a price for the air cleaner base and lid I would entertain the purchase. PM me.

I'm curious if any of you can identify the GM 6pak. (or whatever it's called).
Is it a chevy motor or could it be a pontiac 6 barrel?
