Guys,

I have to rebuild the Master Cylinder. 1970 with Disk Brakes. Some are warning in the various threads not to use a rebuild. However, Don't see anybody selling a new 1970 restoration Master. They look totally different than the stock unit.

Advice on getting the Master rebuilt? Experiences using a rebuilt (hopefully no accidents!!)?
Names of best shops for rebuild?
Possible source for NEW Master to fit my car and proof that even new are reliable?

I had my booster rebuilt through Dewey. Anybody have feedback on them so far?

Best Black Paint and finish to use for Booster and Master?

Really appreciate any and all suggestions and feedback. Thanks.

I was struggling with the same thing in rebuilding my braking system, to rebuild or look for stock looking replacement parts on my disc brake 70 Challenger vert.
I took a recommendation from Mopar Leo who suggested looking at high quality Centric parts. I'm happy with the suggestion.
I will still keep my original date coded master: the Centric unit looked very close. I also purchased the Centric booster and brake calipers. I will also keep all the original parts for a possible future rebuild. For a very reasonable price I was able to keep everything stock looking and finish the work quickly. I can always rebuild and replace with the original parts.

If you must, there are places that will bore & sleeve your original Master Cyl; Check Hemmings Motor News, Services.

For rebuilding an original 1970 '171' master cylinder, I would send it here-
www.brakeplace.com

For boosters, Booster Dewey is the man.

I have heard nothing but good things about Brake & Equipment Warehouse (brakeplace.com), but have heard of quite a few complaints about White Post's work.
