408 Stroker Autotec Piston Ring Gap

I am building a 408 stroker and got the kit for 4.030” bore from Scat. They supplied Autotec 4032 alloy 1024693 pistons (will be 9:1 static comp with my block 596 heads) and a ring package an4030. I measured the rings in the bores and both top and bottom ring gap are 0.026” which seems large. No...

Road Course Track Day Ended with Bad Engine Knock :-(

Definitely 1 rod bearing gone, thoughts if crankshaft can be saved ? Will need to tear into the rest. Bores look ok, heads look ok. Sump wasn’t baffled.

Road Course Track Day Ended with Bad Engine Knock :-(

Great advice thanks! I did drive it harder this time. Got the engine on the stand, hopefully will figure out what has happened later this week. Top end looks fine.

Road Course Track Day Ended with Bad Engine Knock :-(

Car had been running really well, came out of a left hander after long right and noticed a change in engine note, let off the throttle and the engine was making a bad knocking sound, noted the oil pressure was still good and shut it off. Starter struggled to turn it over after a few minutes so I...

First track day in the Challenger

Had the opportunity to run the Challenger at a road course track day yesterday after working on the upgrades over the winter. It was a rush being able to keep up with more modern stuff and had a lot of interest in the car as you rarely see these here in Norway (let alone at the track). My set...

    Too much caster ?

Sorted now with 5 deg caster and 0.5 deg camber. That was a learning exercise, but should be straightforward next time round! Thanks all for your help and replies 👊

    Too much caster ?

Here is my setup. I have a laser level so first ensured all 4 wheels are level on the ground Checked ride height is even left / right and where I want it Front rims are 17x9, 5in offset + 1/4" spacer to clear brakes (spindles are swapped left to right as Baer Track 4 setup has calipers to rear...

    Too much caster ?

Thanks moparleo for the useful info, I have played with varying ride heights but still does not get me within range. I am going to have another look at it tonight.

    Too much caster ?

I got around to doing a proper alignment at the weekend but I seem to end up with too much caster (aiming for 5 deg positive caster, 0.5 deg negative camber). I have installed PST non-adjustable tubular upper control arms (checked they are installed the right way round with ball joint level with...

13in Baer Track 4 brake fits 17in YearOne Rallye rims ?

Status update - got the car on the road today! Ended up with 1/4” spacers / longer studs, a hair shaved off the caliper corners so have +1/8” clearance now. Also had to bring the balancing weight inboard and roll the arches to get everything to clear but I’m really pleased with the results and...

13in Baer Track 4 brake fits 17in YearOne Rallye rims ?

Appreciate your advice Mitch! Possible I could shave a hair off the corner of the caliper. I’m playing around with spacers as well to see what I can get away with.
