I am building a 408 stroker and got the kit for 4.030” bore from Scat. They supplied Autotec 4032 alloy 1024693 pistons (will be 9:1 static comp with my block 596 heads) and a ring package an4030. I measured the rings in the bores and both top and bottom ring gap are 0.026” which seems large. No where I can find the recommended ring gap in the paperwork or on the net I will call them Monday but wondered if anyone has experience with these pistons as I was hoping to get the bottom end done this weekend ?

Never used those particular pistons but 26 thou will be fine.
Those pistons may need a wider gap.

What I am used to is .004 / 1" of bore diameter so ring gap should be .016 - .018 .
Top ring will get more heat so .018 - .020 is about where I would run , this would all change with Turbo , Supercharger or Nitrous obviously where more gap is used .
With quench I typically run 10.2-10.5 compression using 91 octane for a street build so you are on the low end .
What is critical is to get the ring gaps separated by 120-180* from each other so blow by would hve to go most of the way around the cylinder to reach the next ring gap .
Things most fast in an engine , at 600 rpm idle the pistons are at TDC 10 x / second & at 6000 rpm it is 100 x / second !
