Fatter yes. The new ones are nice automobiles though. Comfortable, roomy, quiet and stable. I set the cruise at 100 on our SRT-8 for a couple miles. It's like driving 55.

If your old switch works, use it or have it rebuilt like Ev3RTSE mentioned. The aftermarket switches are not good.

I put a Pertronix in my 70 Swinger. Been in there for years. Just the simple version not the 2 or 3 models. Simple and effective.

I found some universal ones for my 64 Polara. Ihey seem simple but were a turd to install but they made a great difference.

The pin the throttle should be at the back end of the slot in the kickdown lever at idle. As soon as you accelerate, it increases the throttle pressure and shift points. Wide open throttle should get you wide open on the transmission lever.
