Seat Position (Need Leg Room)

If you own a 70, then you will have to move the seat belt retainer that is bolted on the floor behind the seats. Otherwise the seat will hit it

I'm 7' and had to move the drivers seat way back. Make sure you put reinforcements under the floor for any new bolt holes you make. My head still lightly brushes the headliner with the rear of the front seat about an inch in front of the front of the rear seat but it's driveable. I haven't gone on more than a 45 or so minute drive in it and wouldn't want to do a cross country trip anyway.

I'm 6'6". I made brackes for my '73 bench seat 4 speed charger that fit between the seat adjuster rails and the seat to move the seat back 3". I did the same in both my '68 Valiant and my '69 Valiant. I noticed recently that dodge full size van seats have very low profile seat adjuster brackets. Next time I'm in the salvage yard I plan to grab a set and see if they can be adapted to my Challenger seats. Hopefully that will both lower and add rearward movement.
