54 year old steering box leaking

trying to get the "71 running..power Steering box leaking. Napa list one for $149.95. But none in stock. need a source. seen a new smaller one advertised for $650--option. is there an alternative to the power system or just manual .??

Where is it leaking? If it's just the small seal for the input steering column shaft, it's pretty easy to replace the seal with the steering gear in place.

in the rear, where the steering wheel goes in, large outside seal

Right, that's the one moparlee is talking about.
If you go on the Bbodies website. one of the members did a real nice write up. How to replace it.

Here's what I did for my 71 Barracuda. I ordered the Borgenson box and Bergmann's kit the allows you to not cut your factory steering column. Call and talk to Peter! He's a great Mopar guy!
