I have been told by quite a few of you and good gear heads to locate my electric fuel pump back by the tank well I learned my lesson. The first summer outing of my 71 340 Cuda this Fathers day had a small hiccup as I tried to start it, it just cranked and cranked. So as you know spark and gas is all we need so a few pumps and then cranked and cranked and we can tell by ear something is wrong. So I worked/checked my primary pump on the carb and it was spitting bubbles. I'm thinking bad fuel pump but after hooking a fuel source or a jar of gas to the intake it pumped great. So deductive reasoning as my Cuda set all winter in the carport with the front just slightly above the rear (not level) the fuel line from the tank to the front developed a bubble, so happy to find the fix, primed and fired right up. This summer project is to switch to mechanical pump or move electric to rear.
