1974 Challenger Front Bumper Removal...

I need to remove the bumper. Can a person just take out the 3 Bolts out of the bumper brackets to the frame rail on both sides and slide the assembly straight out? Or does the front valance need to be removed as well? ( I'm hopping not to remove the valance if at all possible.
