What is the best way to remove the trim from the top of the door? I believe it is called a belt molding and I notice there is a nut holding it on at the aft side of the door. Does it just slide off, or is there a specific technique needed?

Thanks,

From memory, the molding is held in place at one end, the latch end (not the hinge end) by a clip screwed in place. remove the nut, and the molding will then slide backward 1/2-inch to release all the clips holding the molding. The clips are often plastic and brittle. they may break during removal. sets of these clips are available aftermarket.

I got it off with a trim tool...didn't realize they slid a bit, I had one break so I will be ordering a set, IF i can find the correct clips

I’ve ordered the door belt moldings for my ‘70 Barracuda convertible as I want to add them to my car that did not originally have them. How many holes need to be drilled into the door to install them? Thx

3 on doors 2 on 1'/4s. = 10 That is if I recall that right.

I'm told NAPA part #665-1957 works for clips
