Wheel and rim sizes.

My friend is looking to put 245-60-15 tires on 8 inch rims with a 3&1/2 inch back space on his 74 Barracuda. I know the tires are not a problem because my son has 255-60-15 on his Barracuda but has 7 inch rims. I was wondering if the rims would fit without rubbing the outer wheel wells.Thanks.

I have 15x8s on the back of my Cuda, but the backspacing is 4.5 inches. Don't know for sure, but would guess that 15x8s with 3.5 inch backspacing would rub since the wheels would be an inch further out.
