Ok, that makes sense, thx for the update. Something obviously going on, but the steering box didn't create the issue.

For clarification, did they cancel before the swap? Having a hard time seeing how the 2 are connected. I did the Borg swap, centered the box turn to turn, and bolted everything back together. The steering wheel is slightly off center, but to be expected.

Been a while, but I believe it may plug directly into main firewall bulkhead connector. It's a stand alone harness. Look at pics of harness at Year One, if it has big plastic connector, that's where it goes.

Get the VIN stamped on passenger side, someone may pay a lot more to find their original block.

Absolutely, that’s exactly what I did to mine. Just drill a couple new holes on passenger side and add some rubber bushings to take up the gap. No need to cut anything, just enjoy the extra cooling capacity. https://postimages.org/][/url]

You sure the center bar isn't bent down? Someone had cut off the center bar on mine. I found another luckily and epoxied it in. Had to tweak the height to get it right,

Not seeing a hanger on driver's side. And both my 72 & 70 318 cars had the single exhaust on the passenger side

I don't see a factory exhaust hanger on either side, which is weird. Those straps on there now are clearly aftermarket add on. Sadly muffler shops just ran a lag bolt through the body. Same was done to my car.
