Recently pulled this from my 73 rally Challenger as part of restoration work being done by the great folks at the Finer Details Inc,. shop outside of Indianapolis. I Have been driving the car the past 2 years with this engine and it ran fine with no knocks/ticks despite the fact that it burned a small amount of oil and had low compression on one cylinder(see pic). Was thought to be the original engine, but when pulled, the cast numbers shows a Fall 69 date. (I never checked the pass. side for these codes since the heads matched 1973 castings/springs and the PO said he was 90% sure it was original).
Currently has an Edelbrock LD4B intake and nicely detailed cast valve covers. I'm willing to remove these and just sell the long block for $600 OBO. Engine is still at Finer Details shop near Indianapolis but may be moving back to my home in Bardstown Ky., if I can't sell it directly from the shop to someone. Final price will depend on delivery/shipping details & can help with some delivery efforts within a few hours drive.
