I noticed my ignition key was not smoothly going in and out of the ignition, so I applied some graphite and it seemed to solve the issue. A few days ago, I drove the car and when I went to shut it off, the key would not return to the release position. The assembly is stuck one position forward-...

Hello everyone,
My speedo cable started making jittering noises and you can also see the needle jumping a bit. Can I re-lubricate the cable? I would prefer that to replacing it if I don't have to.
Thoughts?
Hi everyone! Hope we've all recovered from our turkey comas. :)
I've noticed over the last couple of weeks that my exhaust smelled a bit rich. A few days ago, after filling the tank, the engine sputtered and died at the light- and it took a couple of minutes and attempts to start it before it...
I'm approaching my wit's end. Help!
I've settled on a set of date correct OEM valve covers- had them on for over 2 years- and I continue to have issues with the passenger side always seeming to develop a leak. Tried cork, cork with steel inserts- even composite. Getting tired of the smoke and...
Hi Everyone,
I had the misfortune of someone backing into my Challenger while at an event. The damage was done to the driver's side fender- of course, in a way that negates being able to straighten it back out based on where the creasing is.
I've got a new replacement fender and now need a...
In need of a replacement driver's side fender for my E-Body. Some "nice" individual backed into it and didn't bother to stop- let a lone leave me a note. What's wrong with the world these days?
Would prefer OE and in at least good condition, if possible.
Thanks
Had a "run in" with a nice individual (not) who backed into my car and left the scene. There was damaged done to the front left fender, so I'm hoping I can locate a replacement.
Much appreciated.
Drove her last night. Got home and turned off the ignition and the cylinder rotated to about 1/8" short of where it usually stops and now I can't get the key out. Still starts fine but won't return fully.
Any ideas?
Decided to replace the 1157 bulbs and BA9S style bulbs for the instrument cluster with LED. Changed out the front two 1157 bulbs and rear four tail bulbs with the LED equivalent.
MUCH brighter and look much better. (And less draw, of course)
I'm planning on replacing the side marker bulbs and...
I'm not a carb guy- but I think the issue I'm experiencing might be one. I have a 440 with a Holley 650CFM and have noticed "occasionally" that when I step on it- the engine seems to lose power coming out of 2nd gear. If I lay off the gas- and give it a few seconds to recover, it then decides to...
I think the driveshaft I have is a bit on the short side. "clunks" when put into reverse the first time- then smoothly thereafter.
Not coming from the 8.75 rear end and U-joints are relatively new and tight.
Can anyone provide the correct length of the shaft?
I have a 440 with 727 auto.
Thanks
Had the torque converter upgraded a few months ago and when I got the car back, the shifting was off. I spoke with the mechanic and he was unable to find the linkage bracket I had on originally so he replaced it with what turned out to be different. Because I have a Holley carb and Edelbrock...
My door glass and quarter glass is in nice condition, but there are markings/ scuffs in the glass itself.
I would like to have it polished out, but not sure if someone can actually do it on the car- as the glass is so hard to align, etc.
Any ideas?
She now has a nice 440, upgraded cam & upgraded factory air. Added some Series 40 mufflers and recently completed rebuilding the 489 Sure-grip.
I'm done for now....at least until the next itch.
Just want to drive it- take it to a show here and there...
I've recently restored an 8.75 rear end for my 1970 440 Challenger and have 3:23 gears with a Suregrip. Can anyone post factory markings showing the correct designation of paint/ label markings on the housing and pumpkin that would match this setup?
Thanks!
I have a 489 case with a 2:76 gear set and am planning on upgrading to a 3:23 set and possibly LSD. I have a 904 and no plans currently to change it to a 727, as I don't race and generally am not rough on the transmission.
How does the 489 case stack up against the 742 and 741 cases?
