I have the same thought/question.
I remember the real cheap stuff from the JC Witney catalog days (are they still around?).....it was not good.
Who(brand) produces the best aftermarket sheetmetal these days if $$$ is no object? More specifically bolt on stuff, fender/door/hood/valances....is...
It shouldn't be. I "should" be able to withdraw any amount $$$ on any given day. But I can't (banks don't hold much), and it makes me think it's better to hang on to assets in the mean time.
Just a rant here....but let's say I pay a SC property tax on all my vehicles
2015 GM2500 - $5$$ annually
2017 civic - $2$$ annually
1970 Plymouth - $$
Now if I sell my vehicle - even though I paid taxes on initial purchase and annually - they want more??!! I'm not a business, I don't flip...
The back seat I could probably manage, and thank you for the reference to the pliers and rings. Warming up covers seems to be a common theme from what I've read, and will do so when I tackle the project.
These front seats are a mess : )
I didn't know ProCar seats were newly established...
Brand new and never used (aftermarket obviously). Includes brackets. Purchased from Roseville many years ago.
$375 plus shipping from SC, 29040
Edit: Paypal or Zelle for payment. I originally ordered these for a 1970, unsure if the brackets are the same on a 70 vs 71.
Local pickup is...
I don't have your answer.....but "They" used to cut out 4 Spd tunnels out of e-bodies, from what I heard back in the day.
I would have thought mopar engineered all of the console stuff to be interchangeable between auto/4spd. (Yours looks very nice, btw)
I pulled out some really fouled RN12YC (340 w/J heads) and replaced with NGK BPR5ES (which is a little cooler?). To my eye, they were a thread or so shorter and I didn't break them installing under hooker comps....
I noticed a difference just changing plugs and plan on upgrading the wires and...
The heritage of cars here! I dig it!
I bought a 73 charger - plain Jane mostly (had 2/3rd filled fender tag and original documents) - It was grey exterior w/blue interior, 318, slapstick auto, A/C, w/68k miles, for 1200 bucks back in '90s ish. It was near mint and a garage kept grandma...
Or should I purchase another new set? I realize the original back seat is worth it, these old aftermarket seats….are they even repairable?
I have no idea what the cost is to reupholster a seat, but they function fine and I had cheap seat covers over them, but they are breaking down. I’m just...
Still figuring out a couple things and I haven't had to pull anything back off the carb --- it seems to want to run well on test drives well....I think this carb rebuild is a success!
The cold starts seem fine - (two pumps), hot starts are still a ***** - advance issue?????
The choke is locked...
The kit came blue gaskets for the bowls etc… I coated the blue gaskets with a little wd40 when I assembled; meh, see what happens.
I didn’t take any measurements with vac gauge or RPM before hand. The old power valve was 6.5. (Replaced with 6.5), w/brake boost, vac sec carb, vac advance...
So far so good, it’s actually pretty easy to rebuild. I used the kit mentioned above and there are a couple issues with it.
- it didn’t come with the vac sec diaphragm (not sure if it was supposed to)
- the throttle plate gasket is off a a little (not sure it makes a difference)
Should the...
I agree with epoxy primer for longevity....It's as solid as you can get! Once your panel is prepped and perfectly clean of rust and ready to go, it will provide the best etch/protection one can do. A good sealer works well too and will last a long time also, and it is easier to sand as needed...
