I use a tennis ball with a small slice in it. Easy on easy off. Works great.

I removed the safety hook from my Cuda after it got new paint in 2014.
The car has factory Hood Pins w/lanyards, no need for the safety hook, paint chipper, head gouger...

Since I have hood pins I took mine off, it's laying on the workbench.
