did the 1970 barracuda,318, 4 speed come with a finger pp or a diaphram type
i have changed clutch 3 times in a month and getting ready to change again
when i bought the car the clutch was not engaging smooth and the tob was noisy( finger type)
i installed a news kit from oreilly and had the same problem plus when you touched the tob the pedal pulsated
i found that the fingers were not touching the tob evenly
i bought a kit from autozone and has the identical problem
i have purchased a mcleod diaphram to start installing monday
any input would be appreciated

I think I'd be looking at the fork and pivot for possible worn or bent condition.
A little hard to believe two different new clutch covers are set wrong or the discs have a fat side.

FWIW.....
The Mopar Performance book offers fixture dimensions for checking clutch cover finger height. Unfortunately, they don't explain how to use.

I had a disc ground that I use as a standard in place of the disc. Then I measure with a depth mic across two fingers down to it.
