The 8 exposed bolts (looking down in grill) holding the 1970 grill:

are the washers 9/16" or 3/4" dia? or both, depending on location?

Finish: Black phosphate, black paint, or other?

Thanks much

Can also be .75" (see underlined sentence.) All of my originals had the .75" captive washers in those positions. Most of the aftermarket hardware I have seen come with the .562" washer but the bolt head height (E) is incorrect and the captive washers do not have the paint cutter points.

That is why I asked. So the book shows the small dia washers, but I did still have the .75 dia washer "imprints" on my old grill (all my old bolts are mixed up). So when I got the grill kit from R/T specialties with mostly small paint cutter thread bolts (with .56 dia washers, and painted bolts, not phosphate) I got myself confused. Even back 30+ years I didn't remember the smaller bolts on my grill (or on another Challenger I had). Any other Challenger guys/girls please let me know what your grill bolts look like?
