1970 Cuda with Very High VIN (BS23H0B438707)

One the last 1970 Cudas built is advertised for sale in New York. VIN BS23H0B438707 with a Scheduled Production Date (SPD) of 730 (July 30, 1970) would possibly have been built on the last day of production.
SPDs are not exact but this is a very, very, late 1970 Cuda.

Previous info from expert member, 6bblgt, showed these known "high" VINs with BS23H0B438932 being the highest in his records.

I've seen crooked numbers on engine blocks and transmissions, before. I can't say for sure, they are NOT legitimate. Most appear hand-stamped, and it often takes more than one whack to get a decent impression. and the dies can bounce and move, too. so unless a bunch of numbers appear changed, my vote is it's legit. The VIN was likely stamped onto assembled engines right there on the production floor.

The typo on the door VIN may seem odd, but again, a tough call to make. The "1" is pretty far from the "0" on the keyboard. But a "scheduled" production date of 730 doesn't mean that's the actual production date. July 31st 1970 was a Friday, and on the following day, production began on the 1971 model year. So it's not a far stretch to imagine a "1" being typed in error. Not a typo, a genuine mistake.

The current bidding price of $25K seems low for this car.

Understand that Mopar blocks in the 60s and 70s had a high nickel content and are pretty hard. So stamping them was/is tough.

Price does seem pretty low. And I have to comment on those hideously bright red valve covers! Yuck!

Definitely could be the last surviving 70 Cuda.

I think it is cool that the car was scheduled in the last days of production.
