I am now confused as to which is correct for 1970 bucket seat seat back plastic. Is it a two piece set that has a hinge cover or a one piece kind. I removed a damaged one piece but I thought that was 1972. I have seen it both ways. Any interior specialists here.

70'and early 71' is a two piece and the hinge cover can be kinda hard to find.

Where it can be confusing is 1971 Charger and Satellite/Road Runner used the Challenger 70 style seats. They are the two piece back with the same frames. In 72 the Charger and Satellite/road Runner seats were the same as the 71 Challenger seats. The B's stayed one year behind the E's. For 73 through, maybe the 76 Cordoba body, the 71 Challenger style buckets were still used. Why Chrysler did that...who knows???

I dont know if its worth the trouble I like the 72 seatback better which is on it already. Im not worried about its got to be original and perfect. Let the next guydeal with it. I want a nice looking driver which it is. I just got caught up in this because my driver seat back got folded over like a tin can and the plastic seat back cover was damaged to. I have repaired the seat back and discovered that my plastic seat backs were incorrect.

I could be wrong, but i thought i read somewhere that the very early 71's may have had them also.If you do a search of 71' seatbacks on legendary's website, it brings up a 70' also.

My '71 Challenger uses the earlier style with the separate side covers. Early production, Vin ends in 108XXX
