1972 inner fender measurements

Can anyone give me the measurement between the Challengers inner fenders at the hood hinge ? I measured mine before I removed them and it was 48 1/4" but I'm having issues getting the two inner fenders parallel if I use this dimension.

My 73 Cuda (same as Challenger for this particular measurement) is 48 5/8 measuring across from the front most hood hinge bolt area at the top edge of the inner fender side to side.

How critical do you think this measurement is ? If I leave it at 48 1/4 will my hood fit between the hinges ?

Your hinges will give that much for sure but you may run into adjustment problems on your front fenders but then again you will probably have enough adjustment

Thank you for your reply. I did get the inner fenders parallel with the fender studs centered in there slots at 50" apart from front to back. There is some room for adjustment of the fenders, I hope enough. Time will tell.
